Assessing the reliability of data

The report Assessing the reliability of data was developed to compare factual (current) traffic intensity values with ones of typical for a selected day and hour. The assessment is made according to GOST R 70044-2022.

The page Assessing the reliability of data contains a filter for entering report parameters and the report itself in the form of diagrams and charts in each direction separately.

To build a report a user should fill in filter mandatory fields. Filter parameters on the page Assessing the reliability of data are identical to ones on the page Report settings "Statistics. Detailed report.

Main traffic parameters

The main diagram is a comparison chart, demonstrating the difference between the values of factual daily intensity and typical intensity values on weekdays - a bar chart. An interval of no more than three years is used as a statistical evaluation period (for typical values).

Assessing the reliability of data is displayed above the bar of daily intensity factual values in the form of the percentage deviation value of the typical value. The data which was considered unreliable is shown in red colour (deviation is more than 50%). On the X axis on the chart you can see the dates of a selected week, on the Y axis - values of daily intensity.

On clicking on one of the bars of a weekday below each of the bar charts there will appear two additional charts, displaying the change of traffic hourly intensity and of the flow speed (both actual values observed on the road section and the characteristic values of a weekday. On the change charts of hourly intensity and traffic flow speed on the X axis you can see one-hour time interval values, on the Y axis - values of the listed above traffic flow parameters (hourly intensity and average speed).

Charts and diagrams are interactive elements. A user can hide and show elements of charts and diagrams, clicking on the corresponding words above the chart (the legend). Charts of the average speed and hourly intensity can be scaled by scrolling the mouse wheel. On hovering the metering points of the chart a user can see additional information about the absolute values - typical and factual - speed or intensity (depending on the chart) and the date on a tooltip.

Characteristic values for the hour and day of the week (the current functionality is being developed)

The page Characteristic values for the hour and day of the week contains a filter for entering report parameters and the report itself in tabular form, where in the tables are displayed characteristic values of the main parameters of road traffic, such as traffic density, 85% speed, average traffic flow speed, traffic intensity in physical and reduced units in every hour of a weekday. The report is made in each direction separately.

Traffic flow parameters are selected via buttons located above the table, at the same time the page and filter parameters won't be reset. On clicking on the table rows, to the right from the table there will appear charts of changes in road traffic parameters. Values of each parameter are displayed for every day and every hour. Weekday is selected by clicking on the table row simultaneously in every table. If a detector was created less than 24 hours ago, the Apply button would be disabled, the report won`t be built.

To build a report a user should fill in filter mandatory parameters.

Graphical flow analysis

The page Graphical flow analysis contains a filter for entering report parameters and the following four charts and diagrams: traffic flow composition diagram (with vehicle speed displayed), main traffic flow diagram, traffic intensity in reduced units chart and traffic density per kilometer of a traffic lane in reduced units chart for a selected period of time. Charts and diagrams are made in each direction separately. To build a chart a user should fill in mandatory filter parameters.

Filter parameters on the page Graphical flow analysis are identical to those on the page Report settings "Statistics. Detailed reportv.

Main traffic parameters

  1. Composition of the traffic flow by direction (a donut chart and a bar chart). A donut chart shows the total amount of vehicles indicating the number of vehicles of each class and the percentage (%) of vehicles of each class of the total amount (on hovering the chart). Vehicle classes are configured in the Classifier section. On the bar chart on the X axis you can see the names of the corresponding vehicle classes, on the Y axis – speed values in km/h. On hovering the bar of the chart a user can see a tooltip with absolute values of average speed and average speed in reduced units for a selected vehicle class.

  2. Main traffic flow chart is displayed in the form of a scatter plot chart demonstrating the intensity of the traffic flow. A nearby bar chart shows average speed values and 85% speed by lanes in km/h (absolute values become available for a user on hovering the bar). The intensity chart shows the intensity and traffic density values on a certain date. On hovering a point on the scatter plot chart a user can see a tooltip with an absolute value of daily intensity in reduced units, traffic flow density value, traffic flow average speed value and the date of measuring the listed above parameters. The scatter plot diagram may be scaled by the X and Y axis.

    Main traffic parameters

  3. On the Intensity in reduced values chart, built for a certain period of time – a week, on the X axis a user can see the dates of a selected week, and on the Y axis – intensity values in reduced units. On hovering the metering point on the chart a user can see a tooltip with the date, time and absolute intensity value in the selected point of the graph. The graph may be scaled by scrolling the mouse wheel, the day will split into hours.

Main traffic parameters

If a user selected a monthly time period, the intensity chart would split into two – a bar chart and a graph, identical to one built for a week. On the bar chart a user can see the values of daily intensity and values of vehicle maximum intensity in reduced units. Absolute values are available to users in the form of tooltips on hovering the bar on the chart.

On the intensity chart on the X axis you can see month dates, and on the Y axis – intensity values. Charts may be scaled by X and Y axis. On hovering the metering point on the graph a user will see a tooltip with absolute intensity values in a selected point in reduced units per day and the date, when the value was measured.

Main traffic parameters

  1. Traffic density per kilometer of a traffic lane in reduced units chart. On the traffic density per kilometer of a traffic lane in reduced units chart, built for a selected period of time – a week, on the X axis a user can see the dates of a selected week, and on the Y axis – traffic density values. On hovering the metering point of the graph a user can see a tooltip with an absolute density value in the selected point. The chart may be scaled by scrolling the mouse wheel. In this case, days will split into hours.

Main traffic parameters

Main traffic parameters

If a user selects a monthly interval, traffic density chart will split in the same way as the traffic intensity chart. On the bar chart there are shown values of average and maximum traffic density in red.units/km in each lane. Absolute values become available to a user in the tooltip on hovering the bar on the chart. On hovering the metering point of the chart there will appear a tooltip with an absolute value of traffic density.

On the traffic density chart there are month dates on the X axis and density values on the Y axis. The chart may be scaled by the X axis and the Y axis.

Exporting reports of the analyzing main traffic parameters module

Reports may be exported into external files in the Excel format. To export a report, the System must finish report generation. Export is carried out via an «Export» button Main traffic parameters, located in the top right corner of the page below the filter, above the graphical part of the report. The tabular part of the report «Average annual daily intensity» differs from the document exported into an external file (a report in the form of appendixes G and D may be exported in the EXCEL format separately in order to comply with the original normative acts).
